Today we went to Bethany's birthday party at a bowling alley. It was a new experience for our kiddos and they were very excited about the shoes (so much so that AJ was not very happy when we took his off to give them back). Once down to the lanes Annalynn decided that she did not like bowling. I think all the loud noise and fast balls scared her a little. AJ on the other hand thought it was a blast and loved it when it was his turn. Most of his balls ended up in the gutter at the end of the lane as the bumpers did not extend quite far enough. One of his balls never made it quite all the way down the lane and had to be rescued. We made a big deal about all his rolls (and kicks - yes one time he decided he wanted to play soccer with the bowling ball). One time his ball went down the side as usual and then just as it came to the end it rolled slowly across the lane in front of the pins and into the gutter on the other side. They had a fun time and by the end Annalynn decided that she "do like bowling" but still did not want to try it.
The last 4 pictures were taken by Bethany's mom and I LOVE them! Annalynn's and my relationship has taken a turn for the better over the last 2 or 3 weeks in terms of bonding and these pictures capture some of that new found joy she has in her mommy!!
(Don't miss my post below this one to pray for little Samuel)
