As I mentioned in my last post we went to the zoo yesterday. It was a great day for it and we had a lot of fun. The kids love to see the animals and each time we go it is exciting for them. We have had a membership this year so have made several visits. One nice thing about a membership is that you do not feel that you have to see the whole zoo in one visit - if the kids (or mom) wear out we can come back another day to see more. We try and start in different areas as well so that we can enjoy every part of the zoo at some point.
This was an area of the zoo we had not seen with the kids before - it has a waterfall and some "fish" swimming upstream. They also have otters and beavers. They enjoyed seeing something new this time.
We stopped by the farm to have a snack and then petted the goats. This area of the zoo is run entirely by teenagers. They have a petting area and other more domestic farm animals. It is a high point for the kids especially in the summer when there are more animals and also some interesting displays.
AJ was especially taken with this goat that was up on a barrel. He enjoyed petting the goats.
Annalynn loved the sea lions and wanted to touch them through the glass. They are fascinating to watch - so graceful looking in the water for such large creatures.
We took the kids on the train. Both of them wanted to go so badly. I have a hard time paying for the train on the off months as it just does a loop around the zoo and you really don't see to much. In the summer it takes you over to the Rose Garden and a large play area where you can get off and play and then take a later train back -
I wish Annalynn would cooperate with the camera more so I could have a comparison picture of her like this one of AJ. Can you believe how much he has grown in 9 months!! We keep track on the wall at home so I know he was grown but was still amazed to see this comparison picture today.

Such great pictures! I love all of them, but the one with AJ and the bear...showing how much he has grown is too cute! What a great way to watch them grow! You can go there for years. How fun is that??!!

We love the zoo! That is the one membership we get every year without fail! Looks like you all had a great time!
