Gingerbread House

We have been a little cooped up lately between the weather and the kids having colds. Their Auntie D. bought them a gingerbread house kit and daddy went and got it from Grandma's today so we could work on it. It was a nice kit with everything you need in it. I put the house together while they were napping so it could dry and be nice and sturdy when they woke up. They were very excited and we got started on it as soon as they were both awake. We ran into some frosting issues and so decided to put it on hold until daddy came home with some more frosting. They had a lot of fun putting the candy on the roof. Annalynn licked each piece as she put it on her side of the roof - guess she thought it would help it stick :-)
While they were napping I made some little tiny sugar cookies and you can see the little boy and girl in front of the house. Also, the star on the tree and the candy canes on the front of the house were the little sugar cookies.
Now, hope we can find a project for tomorrow as the weather is supposed to be pretty bad and we won't be going anywhere!! One thing I can pretty much guarantee is that it won't involve eating candy. My vote is to open Christmas presents early - we are stuck inside and it would certainly entertain them - Daddy says, "no!"
