The Memorial service for dad was really awesome. My brother put together a great video of my dad's life. (it is up on Facebook if you would like to see it) Scott Olson, my dad's pastor for the past 3 or 4 years, did an awesome job of recounting my dad's life. At the end of his message he played a recording of Dad talking about what he would want to say. I was not expecting it and it was pretty moving. After the service he handed each family 4 CD's of my dad telling his testimony and life story. He had recorded it with my dad just a couple of months ago. What an awesome gift.

Memorial Service and the Beach
Probably kind of an odd mix for a post - but this has been our life this week :-) Yesterday we went to the beach. There were 28 of us and we had a blast! The older kids climbed up the dune and my brother and niece took some awesome pictures! The little kids played in the ocean and the sand. Annalynn loves the sand and will get as much of it on her as she can! They climed a short distance up with daddy and then slid back down. They had a lot of fun. There are so many more pictures on facebook if we are friends over there.

It sounds like a perfect tribute to a life well-lived! Glad you are able to get together as a family and have some fun times. That is just what your dad would have wanted you to do!

What a wonderful tribute to your dad and the best memorial of all is his wonderful family. So glad you could all be together to celebrate his life.
Just having your family together was the perfect thing to remember your Dad by ... somehow I know he was there with you at that beach! Thanks for sharing all your great pictures!
Okay, the part about your dad's voice got me. I am so glad the memorial went well for you, Ruth.
