Vacation Week

We took a mini vacation this week. My sister and family came from So. Calif. for a visit and we did a lot of fun things.

The first day they were here we took a trip up the Columbia River Gorge to Multnomah Falls and no trip to MF is complete without going a few more miles up the road to the hole in the wall ice cream shop in Cascade Locks!

On Wednesday we went to Wildwood and had hot dogs and played in the river! The kids had a lot of fun on inner tubes and air mattresses. I think the older boys redirected the whole river with their dam building project :-). That evening Dad (Grandpa) took the adults to Chaba Thai for a very nice dinner and then they did s'mores back at Bradleys. (Annalynn was having a serious melt down by this time so her first s'more will have to wait!)

Thursday we were off to the beach - after a very loooong trip to the beach (I think it took us almost 4 hours for what should have been a 2 hour drive!) we had a fun time with the older kids climbing the sand dune and the younger ones hanging out digging in the sand! Again, no trip to the beach would be complete without a stop at Tillamook Cheese factory for ice cream (do you detect a theme with our outings!)

Friday Judi and I hit the 40% off everything sale at Fabric Depot for sashing fabric for Annalynn's quilt. We grabbed an early dinner with the California clan at Red Robin and then headed home!

Saturday we hung out at home and tended to our very overgrown garden. We weeded for 3 1/2 hours! My back was sore!!! The yard does look much better however!

That was our mini-vacation! We are ready now to get back on a schedule and get a few things done that got neglected last week.
