Christmas Party

You can tell it is Christmas time and lots going on in our lives as the posts have increased :-)
A few weeks ago I got the idea to have some of Anna and AJ's friends over for a little Christmas party. We bought invitations and mailed them out. We got several reports back about how excited the kids were to get invitations mailed to them and about coming to the party. We got busy and planned our party (mom planned and passed on the ideas) Daddy got very involved in getting the house ready and Monday morning we were all set. First thing Monday morning daddy's truck did not work - although it was not a good thing financially for us it was an added blessing to our day to have Daddy home (and we know that God will provide the finances we need - He always does!)
We started out with two crafts. We made a little stand up Nativity set that I found here. We also made bead ornaments on pipe cleaners. The kids had a lot of fun with both crafts. We played a couple games - Throw the snowballs (marshmallows) at the snowman (daddy made the snowman) and then we had a relay race putting candy from one bucket to another with a serving spoon. The older kids especially enjoyed the games!
For lunch we had rice balls, chicken nuggets, tater tots and Christmas Jello and for dessert we had Happy Birthday, Jesus cupcakes. It also happened to be one of their friends birthdays so we had 4 candles in our cake and sang Happy Birthday to her and to Jesus!
My brother, Steve, came by and made a special Pad Thai lunch for the moms and dads at the party.
We had 13 children and their moms or dads - overall I think it was a very fun and successful party! I wish I had gotten a picture of all the kids together but that might have been a Christmas miracle! Our Happy birthday, Jesus, cupcakes and the birthday girl! (Thanks Rebecca R. for the idea :-))

The toys kept them entertained in between activities and when they needed a break from concentrating!
